Yodel Me on My Cell while I Simmer & Shimmer

This was my first attempt at a full glitter gradient mani.  Not too bad & very blingtastic

OPI Yodel Me on My Cell w/ OPI Shimmer & Shimmer

Zoya Tao w/ RBL Frugalista

For the last several manicures I have been playing with glitter gradients & accent nails.  Here's a slice

On a side note, these pics were taken 5 days into this manicure & Zoya is rocking the house w/ only minor tip wear.  Just Sayin :D

Happy Halloween!

I feel like something out of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas.  It's AWESOME :D

Now I can't remember exactly what I used LOL

White Matte on brow bones
UD matte Cult on lids
Black & charcoal mattes gradient on top of UD Cult on lids
UD 24/7 Liquid liner in Perversion to draw designs and line eyes
Buxom Shade stick in Smokin Pistol thick lined outer rims & waterlines
UD Woodstock lightly in the crease
L'Oreal Project Runway Raven's Blush
Kat Von D Celebutard lipstick

False lashes in two different designs.  One spikey, the other super long, crisscrossed & sweeped out.

I had fake flowers all stuck in my hair, but you can only see the one white rose in the pic.  And yes folks, that is the natural state of my hair.  :D

Odd color Combos that work

I recently received the Tarte 8th World Wonder last AD kit & the Glow Your Way to Gorgeous 2nd installment along with the first installment of the Bare Escentuals Bare Luxeries Kit.  Naturally I have to play away and anyone who knows me also knows that the little instruction look books don't even get looked at LOL  Here's a look I came up with that seemed really odd at first & then I put my shirt on & VOILA it was gorgeous :)

One of the coolest white nail polishes... ever

I'm not exactly sure why I was drawn to this, but I buzzed like a bee right to many months ago when Revlon released 4 Matte Suedes to their line.  I absolutely LOVED this look, especially w/ a topcoat!  Application was a little finacky as a matte can be, or even a white for that matter, but it dried quickly, covered well & the end result was a total winner for me.  The color itself looks white w/ a subtle blue pearl in the bottle.  On the nail the milkiness of the white took on a pinky flesh tone for me with the blue pearl morphing into a sort of glow. I think I loved this so much because it was crisp & clean but kinda funky all at the same time.  This was 3 coats w/ topcoat.  I realized I should have taken photo of the matte suede look PRIOR to topcoating but sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake :)  Oh well, there's always next time!

Bronzed Thistle w/ UD 15th Anniversary

I thought this turned out awesome!  I have never done a color combo like this before and I really love the way it turned out.

UDPP
Vanilla lash to brow
Tainted on lid
Chase on outter half of lid (over Tainted)
MIA in crease
Wasteland 24/7 Shadow stick on waterlines, upper & lower lashline

Smoked Teal w/ UD 15th Anniversary

I am always trying to find ways to tone down bright colors.  I am also always trying to find ways to use matte black shadow, since I have like 19 of them.  It seems they come in every palette from UD, KVD & the like :)  This look kinda merged both of those quests.

UDPP
Deep End on the lid
Ace on the outer corner & on lower lashline
Vanilla on browbone & inner corner
A few grains of Blackout in the crease
Perversion 24/7 liner on waterlines
Uzi 24/7 liner on upper outer lashline

Retro Flower Mani/Pedi w/ Off Broadway Nail Wraps

I found these at Walgreens for half off so I decided to try them out.  They are labeled as nail wraps, but really they are just large flexible stickers.  They aren't the same as the Sally Hansen ones because they aren't made of nail polish.  The stickers remind me of the flexible thin, almost latex ish water slide decals for your nails.  Anyway, these were fairly easy to apply.  I used Essie Feed Me as a base, then applied the sticker.  Because the stickers are flexible I kind of adheared it to the base of my nail, then stretched it over the rest & pressed it down.  I did end up with a few wrinkles, which didn't bother me at first but proved to be the undoing of my pretty stickers!  It came with a small file to remove the excess from the top of the nail (which I kept and used on my toes!).  I then used Posh as a top coat, same method for my toes.  On my toes I had to do quite a bit of trimming with nail scissors to make them the right size to fit.  Overall I was pleased with these on my toes, not so much my hands.  My manicure lasted a whopping 22 hours before the wrinkles cracked and started to peal.  Also the decal started to lightly peel up at the edges & would get caught in my hair.  I'm not sure if I didn't get it stuck down well enough or if the topcoat pulled it up.  I didn't have any wrinkles on my toes & they lasted over a week :)  I think these are fun for a special day but this particular brand & style don't last on the fingernail.  I have some Sally Hansen ones waiting in the wings for review.  We'll see how those fair comparitively.

These pics were taken 2 days after application.  All pics are clickable to make larger :)

Neutral Taupe w/ Urban Decay 15th Anniversary

I love how the shades in this palette can be manipulated by layering them.  By using Midnight 15 as a base, it sofetened/lightened the depth & pulled both the brown/bronze shades into a taupey look.
UDPP
Midnight 15 lash to brow
Deeper on the lid
MIA in crease
Midnight 15 on lashline
Virgin (f/Naked) on browbone
Wasteland 24/7 Shadow stick on lower lashline & waterlines
